WBRC Fox 6 News recently visited Richard Arrington Elementary School to learn how the school, along with other Birmingham City Schools, have managed to improve reading scores.

The school demonstrated the team approach to reading achievement. With the combined efforts of teachers, reading coaches, curriculum specialists, and administration, Arrington has shown improvements in reading scores.

Reporter Sarah Verser observed a third grade class and spoke with Dr. Jacqueline Dent, K-5 Literacy Coordinator for Birmingham City Schools, and Arrington Principal Bruce Roper, to tell the full story.
