Mrs. Nieshel Johnson Fall

Hello!

My name is Nieshel Fall and I am the Early College Coordinator here at Woodlawn Magnet High School.  I am a career educator intent on cultivating to fidelity an educational community that is successful, informed and focused.   After graduating from the Birmingham City School System, I attended The University of Montevallo, as well as Miles College.   Upon graduating from my undergraduate studies, I returned to the Birmingham area and taught grades seven to twelve in all areas of Science.  Teaching and leading in Fairfield City Schools  and Jefferson County Schools has prepared me to return to Birmingham City in this role as the Early College Coordinator.

During my career as an educator, I have traveled and engaged with schools around the country. I know unwaveringly that students are the heart and focus of impactful educational programs. While teaching, I continued my studies, attending classes at The University of Alabama, and Faulkner University.  In 2011, I joined Cognia (Advanc-Ed) as a team member and have served as a Lead, and as Associate Lead Evaluator on numerous accreditation teams.  Believing in the development of stakeholders in all areas of the educational process, I have experience in professional training, relationship building, and collaboration. I rely upon my skill sets to advance a unique combination of concept knowledge, training and personal experiences to assist others in achievement.  I am a lifelong learner holding a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. I am currently completing a terminal degree in Philosophy.  I have held positions within the educational community as an Educational Consultant, Continuous Improvement Coordinator, Math and Science Project Specialist and Professional Educator.  My passion for education comes from a dedication to enthusiastic and dynamic teaching as a means of creating and nurturing a lifelong love of knowledge in student and adult learners. I hope to serve students in this role as they prepare to change their lives and the world.

The Early College program strives to empower students to earn up to 60 hours of college credit at no cost to the student and families. FAQS

What is Early College?
Early College is a dual enrollment program where high school students take college courses for both college and high school credit. The earned college credits not only satisfy your high school requirements for graduation but may be applied towards a degree at Jefferson State Community College or the University of Alabama at Birmingham or possibly transferred to another college or university.

Why would Early College Interest me?
Early College gives motivated students like you an opportunity to start college while in high school. What if I decide to attend a different college after high school graduation?
Transfer your hours to that college.
