National Honor Society Candidate Form Information 

National Honor Society Invitations for the 2024 National Honor Society Candidacy have been sent out.  If you did not receive an invitation and feel you are eligible, please at Email Mrs. Reid

Steps to Complete the 2024 NHS Application: 

1. Ask three core teachers to complete the Student Recommendation Form. Let them know an email will be sent to them on February 21st.  

2. Gather information needed to complete the RHS National Honor Society Candidate Form through Google Forms: 

   1. Student Personal Statement: Upload a well-developed personal statement that explains why you feel that you should be considered for membership in the National Honor Society. Your statement must meet the following formatting criteria: typed, FULL one-page, double-spaced, 12-pt. Times New Roman font, 1 in. margins. Use your personal statement as an opportunity to express your core values and explain how those values support your academic success and service to others. Feel free to include information that allows the reviewers to learn more about you and why you would be an asset to the organization. 

   2. Service: List community activities in which you have participated and note any major accomplishments or leadership positions held in each. These should be any activities in which you participated for the betterment of your community. For example: church groups, clubs sponsored inside/outside of school, Boy/Girl Scouts, volunteer groups, community art endeavors, or any other groups in which you render service to the community (not paid). An example of a major accomplishment would be the attainment of Eagle Scout within the scouting organization. An example of leadership might be a promotion to team leader or supervisor in your workplace.

   3. Involvement: Clearly explain the activities in which you have participated during high school. Include clubs, teams, athletics, jobs, etc. Be sure to include the grade level(s) that you participated in each activity and highlight any major accomplishments and leadership roles. 

3. Complete the RHS National Honor Society Candidate Form(click here)  Be sure to complete all fields, sign, and date the form. Make sure that your contact information is accurate. Proofread before submitting. 

4. Submit all materials no later than Friday, March 8th at 4pm. 

5. If selected, submit dues payment of $25 to cover national membership fees and student recognition materials.
