As a child, I knew that I was destined to be an educator. I grew up playing school and I was always the teacher. My father and mother made sure my dream of becoming a teacher became reality. I am a proud graduate of Alabama A&M University, Alabama State University, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Miles Law School. I have three other sisters that were educators.
I am entering my 34th year as an educator. During my career, I have served as a sixth grade science teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal. My entire career has been spent in the Birmingham City Schools system. I begin as a teacher at Bush Middle School for seven years. After which, I begin my career in administration serving as assistant principal at Hudson Middle School, Ensley High School, and Wenonah High School. I have been Principal at the following schools: Hayes High School, Wenonah High School, Bush Middle School, Gate City Elementary and my final destination, Minor Elementary School.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, family/friends, teaching bible study,community service with the Soror’s of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and traveling.
I am honored to begin my fifth year as Principal of Minor Elementary. It is a privilege for me to serve the students, parents, staff and community of Minor Elementary School, where the best scholars and teachers in Birmingham City Schools resides.
