L. M. Smith Middle School strives to provide a safe, caring, inviting and nurturing environment; promoting a sense of belonging and encouraging high academic achievement for all. Working together and building relationships are paramount.  All individuals will be treated with dignity and self-worth.  Our students and staff will recognize and accept one another’s differences, curiosity, creativity, and diversity is celebrated.  Everyone will be empowered, sharing in the decision-making process.  The school environment will be student-centered and our core business of teaching and learning will our priority.

Our students and staff will recognize and embrace one another's differences, curiosity, creativity, and diversity. Stakeholders and the community will be empowered through shared leadership. The school environment will be student-centered and our priority is teaching and learning.
