The vision of the comprehensive school counseling program at R. C. Hemphill Elementary School is that all students are using their strengths and unique potential to better the world around them. They are lifelong learners who honor their own culture while acknowledging and appreciating the differences of others. They are making a positive difference within their personal and global communities.

Hemphill Elementary School Counseling Program Mission Statement
The mission of the Hemphill Elementary School Counseling Program is to help all students achieve excellence by being student-centered, and providing research-based strategies to promote positive social, emotional, academic, and college & career awareness. The school counseling program is driven by the belief in equity, access, and success for every student. Students will be taught to be lifelong learners who are engaged in their education. Through the leadership of the school counselor, students will focus on their academic success and develop social and emotional skills that help them feel safe and secure and to treat others with empathy and respect, regardless of circumstances or differences. By collaborating with other counselors, educators, parents, and community members, we advocate for the needs of all students and help prepare them to be global leaders.
