The Alabama State Board of Education recognized the excellence of three schools in our Birmingham City Schools district during its regular meeting on Thursday, Nov. 14.
EPIC Alternative Elementary (pictured above) was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School for 2024. Only four other schools in the state received the award this year, with just 356 schools nationwide earning the designation.
Meanwhile, W.J. Christian and J.H. Phillips Academy (below left to right) were recognized as a Schools of Excellence with average PSAT scores of 865 and 874, respectively.
